About Us
SINE online

The Southwest Indiana Network for Education – SINE – is an independent, not-for-profit organization that was formed in 2001. SINE’s formation was the result of a successful proposal made by the Community Foundation Alliance, Inc. to Lilly Endowment as a part of Community Alliances to Promote Education (CAPE).

SINE is dedicated to creating a culture in which everyone in Southwest Indiana – from young school-age children to adult workers to senior citizens – embraces education for its own sake and reaps the rewards of lifelong learning.

SINE provides professional and financial support to programs that serve educators, businesses and learners of all ages, all backgrounds and all walks of life throughout Daviess, Gibson, Knox, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and Warrick counties. Where needed services do not exist, we work to create them in the most effective, efficient, sustainable manner possible.

To accomplish our mission, the programs we provide and support are primarily designed to combat low youth and adult literacy rates, address the problems of at-risk and underachieving youth, provide better professional development for teachers, and improve communication and partnerships between educators, parents, students, the business community and the community-at-large.
