Computer Courses
Introduction to Personal Computers is a 16-hour course offered in an 8-week course two hours each week. The course offers learning and hands-on instruction in basic computer software and hardware. You will learn about the Microsoft (MS) operating system, Windows, and the MS Office suite programs consisting of MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer. Class fee is $20. Class size is limited.
The Advanced MS Office computer-training course is an 18-hour course offered in a 9-week session two hours each week. The course offers hands-on instruction for advanced learning in MS Windows (2 hours), Word (6 hours), Excel (8 hours) and PowerPoint (2 hours). Class fee is $20. Class size is limited.

Fast-Track GED Course (GED Preparation )
The General Educational Development (GED) certificate gives adults who did not graduate from high school the opportunity to earn a certificate equivalent to a high school diploma. Recognized nationwide by employers and educators, the GED certificate has increased education and employment opportunities for many adults.
The Fast-Track GED course is an instructor-led preparation course that teaches specific skills for taking the GED test. You will need to take a practice test in order to qualify for taking the GED test. A minimum pre-test score is required before taking the GED test.
The GED test consists of five parts: Language Arts Writing, Social Studies, Science, Language Arts Reading, and Mathematics. All questions are multiple choice except for one essay question.
Fast-Track GED courses are offered throughout the year in Princeton and Fort Branch. You have the opportunity to attend the course once a week, up to 14 weeks. Each student will be provided practice materials and a GED book to use ($10 fee required.) You will be provided assistance in scheduling your GED test date. A testing fee will be charged.

GED preparation classes are also offered in the Gibson County Jail for inmates. Testing is provided at the Jail. Sign up is offered to inmates when classes are being offered. There is no fee for the class and test fees are paid.
GED Testing Site Available in Princeton
A testing site is provided at Princeton Community High School , in cooperation with Pike County Schools. Testing sessions are offered one or two times a month and are usually scheduled in the evenings and on weekends. There is a $60 test fee for the entire test. All adult learners must be 16 years of age or older and not enrolled in K-12 schooling.
The ACE Academy in Dale has been approved by the Division of Adult Education of the Indiana Department of Education as a GED testing site. The North Spencer Education Center administers the GED test approximately every other month announces exact dates in the local media.
Students must pre-register for the test in person at the North Spencer Education Center, which is located inside the Dale Community Center, 105 E. Hammond, Dale. The Center is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m - 800 p.m., and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
